Home Sustainability Assessments
A One Green Step Home Sustainability Assessment looks at your home (and how you live in it) with the aim of reducing your carbon footprint – and along with it, your energy and water bills. The service is highly customised, and we are able to focus on what’s of greatest interest to you. Our experience shows most of our clients pay themselves back for their assessment within three to 12 months.
We offer two levels of assessment: Green Steps and Green Leaps.
With both assessments, we conduct a physical inspection of your home. We consider thermal comfort, water heating and use, lighting, refrigeration, cooking, entertainment and waste management. We provide advice along the way and a detailed assessment report that recommends actions you can take, likely costs, and details where to get further information.

Green Steps Assessment
The Green Steps assessment is perfect for households that are keen to learn how to make their everyday life more sustainable and some effective ways to manage rising utility bills. The Green Steps assessment usually takes between 1 and 1.5 hours to complete and costs $185.

Green Leaps Assessment
The Green Leaps assessment is a better choice for households that need a bit more advice or would like a deeper level of analysis. For example, we can go into detail about ways to improve the passive solar performance of your home and provide payback estimates for investments like solar panels.
The Green Leaps assessment usually involves 2 to 3 hours with you in your home, plus additional research and analysis time. The cost depends on your specific concerns, so please contact us for a quote.
